The North West Amateur Radio Club
M0KKN
About us
We are an active amateur radio club operating across all HF bands as well as VHF and UHF, bringing together operators with a shared passion for radio communication, experimentation, and learning.
Alongside traditional analogue operation, we are also active on digital modes — you can find us on DMR TG2355998 — and we enjoy exploring new technologies and practical operating techniques.
We work closely with CARVES-UK CIC, taking part in Emergency Communications (EMCOM) activities, training, and exercises focused on real-world resilience and preparedness.
Here you can follow our club activity and check our members’ on-air presence.
Club activity
Join us on OPS 2m NET .
OPS-2m Net is a regular VHF simplex net focused on emergency communications, resilience, and real-world operating conditions.
The net is designed to test local coverage, antennas, and portable setups, while helping operators gain confidence on the air.
We operate on 2 metres FM using simplex frequencies, with participation from stations across the North West.
Everyone is welcome — from newly licensed operators to experienced stations.
Digital modes
We are active on several digital voice modes, allowing our members to stay connected locally and beyond.
